Bloggers We Love: Chelsea Salle

Name: Chelsea Sallee

Age:  30 (eeeek, I’m still not used to that number!)

City: San Francisco, CA (but my heart belongs to SoCal – San Diego, Santa Monica and Santa Barbara)

Day Job:  Fashion & Lifestyle Publicist

How would you define your style?
Sophisticated but laid back California girl with an edge.

What is currently inspiring your style?
I’ve always been inspired by Kate Moss’ style – it is so effortless yet cool and glamorous looking. Taylor Tomasi Hill and Charlize Theron are also stylistas that I look to for inspiration.

What is your favorite item in your closet?
This is a rough one….I would have to say my black skinny jeans from 7 for All Mankind. They are super flattering and I wear them everywhere from work to errands to clubs.

What is the one thing you wish was in your closet?
A Rick Owens leather jacket

Shoes, bags, or jewels?
SHOES!! Even though I usually end up wearing the same few pairs over and over again each season, I never feel I have enough, lol!

What is your favorite place to shop?
I LOVE Zara! I always find something fun to wear there. When I need something special and have a bit more to spend I go straight to Barney’s. I’m also a big fan of Nordstrom – you just can’t beat the easy returns.

What is your favorite online shopping site?
I am definitely more of an online shopper. My favorite sites are Shopbop, Gilt, MyHabit and Forward by Elyse Walker

What is your best style/fashion tip?
Stay true to your personal style – don’t try to dress a certain way or wear a certain trend that isn’t who you are because you will feel uncomfortable and therefore look uncomfortable.

What was your inspiration for starting your blog?
I moved to San Francisco from Los Angeles fall of 2011 (for my fiance’s job) and I was looking for an outlet to express my creativity and meet people while searching for a job. Blogging was the one thing that made me feel connected in a city full of strangers.

What is the one thing you love most about the city you live in?
The city is still new to me so there are countless places to explore. I love that there are so many unique neighborhoods with completely different vibes.

Where is the best place to brunch in your city?
To be honest, my fiancĂ© and I aren’t really morning people.  When we do make it to brunch we like Balboa CafĂ© in the Marina. Firehouse in Soma is good before a Giants day game. Usually though, our “brunch” is champagne and gourmet picnic snacks in Dolores park on warm weekends.

Beverage of choice?
COFFEE!! If you’re not shaking, you need another cup;) lol. Of course if you are talking about alcohol I never turn down a good glass of champagne.

Bloggers We Love: Hallie Wilson

Name: Hallie Wilson
Age: 27
City: New York City
Day Job: Account services/social media strategist
How would you define your style?   Attainable yet experimental. I’m constantly clad in unexpected pairings – like mixed prints, lots of layers, or statement pumps and a vintage tee. You’re welcome to check out more of my looks here.
What is currently inspiring your style? Monochromatic ensembles, streamlined silhouettes and anything striped.
What is your favorite item in your closet? Currently, my 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli. I worked hard for it! All-time fave goes to the vintage Gucci clutch I thrifted for $40.
What is the one thing you wish was in your closet? A classic pair of nude Louboutins.

Shoes, bags, or jewels? Shoes!
What is your favorite place to shop? Zara
What is your favorite online shopping site? Shopbop for designer finds, J. Crew for structured separates and Bauble Bar for jewelry.
What is your best style/fashion tip? Always have a safety pin on-hand.
What was your inspiration for starting your blog? I used to work in market research, where my job was very data-oriented. I started corals + cognacs as a creative outlet where I’d hoped my day-to-day styling efforts and arguably unacceptable collection of shoes would be better comprehended. You can read more on that here.
What is the one thing you love most about the city you live in? I moved here about a month ago and I've been in exploration mode ever since.  I touched on this in a recent blog post, but I’d have to say constantly meeting new people and re-connecting with old friends. New York is truly the city that never sleeps!
Where is the best place to brunch in your city? Oh gosh, I think it’s still too soon to tell! I recently went to Buttermilk Channel in Brooklyn and loved it – oyster in my Bloody Mary? The bar has been set!
Beverage of choice? Prosecco.
